Fans of the 'Shpickle' are in for a treat as Brooklyn Whatever expands into new product categories. If you are new to Brooklyn Whatever, Shpickles are pickled vegetables without using cucumbers or dill. Born in Brooklyn and crafted by local food maker Brooklyn Whatever, Shpickles are a delicious part of a gourmet food business that's also the home of the innovative Shnuts and their original Shmolives.
The great flavor of their food starts with an old family brine recipe of herbs and spices and a touch of garlic. Shpickles are certified vegan, preservative free, sugar free, and made with non-GMO vinegar. From brussles sprouts to okra, get the pickled flavor of vegetables you love. This is a nutritious, feel good food to eat and gift.
Brooklyn Whatever was started by Rachel Shamah and son Abe Shamah who is a graduate of the Institute of Culinary Education. Rachel retired from her career as an advocate for disabled children in New York City and came up with the Shpickles name during a yoga class. Along with their original gourmet olives, Shmolives-which Abe had perfected, they started producing their first line of products in a local commercial kitchen and traveled to pop ups and festivals throughout Brooklyn.
Abe is known as the "Olive King" among friends and the unique Shmolives are made with limited brine and fresh flavoring so they burst with taste.
To provide even more flavorful snacking options, they have flavored nuts called Shnuts which are a mixture of almonds, hazelnuts, cashews, walnuts, pecans, and macadamia nuts in four flavors - Sweet & Savory, Curry, Creole, and Ghost Pepper. Shnuts are peanut free and roasted twice using the best ingredients.
Brooklyn Whatever's creative food making has just recently expanded their line of delicious condiments and snacks, all of which are now available through their Treamto iOS store. The products are Amish in origin and include Shauerkraut, Shketchup, Shmustard, Shbarbecue Sauce, Shdressings, and fruit Shpreads--many are infused with chili peppers for an added kick.
The Shketchup is all natural and comes in two hot pepper versions: Habanero Ketchup and Jalapeño Ketchup. These ketchups have a nice heat that isn't overpowering and accentuate whatever you're eating that needs a pop of tomato spread and spice.
To go with you Shketchup, Brooklyn Whatever also offers amazing Shmustard in two flavors, Zesty and Sweet. It's the perfect condiment for sandwiches, chicken, salad dressing, deviled eggs and other fun hord'ouvres.
One of my favorite combinations is to spread mustard on toast and then cover it with sauerkraut. Brooklyn Whatever now has two wonderful sauerkraut flavors, called Shauerkraut, which makes sauerkraut on toast taste even better, in flavors: Chipotle and Sweet & Hot.
Jams and Spreads
If you love hot pepper jam or chili jam, Brooklyn Whatever has a must try selection. These spreads are a fruity flavor boost for muffins, scones, fritters and latkes. The three jam flavors are Cherry Jalapeño, Hot Pepper, and Jalapeño. They also offer a great Apple Butter, too.
If you love barbecue sauce, these three flavors from Brooklyn Whatever offer an exciting range of BBQ styles - Hickory Apple, Sweet Carolina, and Southern Classic.
Dressings and Marinades
Brooklyn Whatever's expanded line also includes dressings. Try the Shdressings in Blueberry Balsamic dressing and Garlic Parmesan.
Lastly, Brooklyn Whatever did not forget the preserved fruit. They offer pear and peach halves called Shpears and Shpeaches. Try these over yogurt, ice cream, chopped into salads, or enjoy them on their own.
