It may be the wide selection of delicious treats such as banana bread mini loaves, or gingerbread cookies, or the decadent cashew-based Tiramisu. It could be the fact that all items are gluten free. It may also be that everything is plant-based and made without dairy or eggs, giving the booth a peaceful quality.
However, the most charming aspect is Kathy Turner, the founder of and inspiration behind the bakery. Her warmth and friendliness fuels the care that she pours into her baked and raw goods. When browsing through the market, it's a highlight to stop here and discover the incredible options. Even when you get home with your stash and try everything, her positive energy carries through to each bite.
Before No Glutes About It appeared at farmers markets in 2014, Kathy went through a powerful transformation. She was afflicted with a condition that caused chronic inflammation of the thyroid gland which caused it to be under-active. She was determined to improve her condition naturally by changing her lifestyle, diet in particular.
After uncovering how toxic her diet was, she started to eat a lot cleaner which meant removing processed food and animal fats and proteins as well as wheat from her diet. It worked and made her a healthier, happier person. The energy from this transformation transitioned into a goal to help others feel their best and enjoy all of life's treats.
Kathy discovered that locally there weren't many sweets options for people wishing to follow a cleaner diet. When she started to make food that was vegan and gluten free that also tasted amazing, she received enthusiasm in return. This is how No Glutes About It came to be: a way for her, her family and the community to enjoy options that fit all lifestyle needs.
The creativity of the team at No Glutes About It, which includes Kathy's niece, Stephanie, has lead to some amazing creations. We had a table side chat with them about what's slated for No Glutes About It in the near future, and all we can see is the imagination here is booming.
Regulars at the farmers market include the raw 'no-bake' items, which are truly outstanding such as the raw cashew-based blueberry and original Tiramisucashew. The round mini cake is out of this world and includes walnuts, molasses, dates, a bit of coffee and authentic tiramisu flavor.
The bakery specializes in plant-based mini loaves which include lemon, banana, and cranberry orange. Gingerbread cookies, brownies, and mini 'haystacks.' The haystacks are shredded coconut, pistachios, cranberries, flax and salt and come in little cups. Loaded with superfood they are both healthy and delicious.
Kathy also indicates that she wants to provide "convenience and accessibility" to her products so that more people are able to enjoy them at anytime.
