Treat Your Way into the Lunar New Year
Chinese New Year is day one month one of the Chinese lunar calendar. The Lunar New Year is a wonderful time and marks the beginning of the new lunar cycle. This year it is February 19. It's a time of bright colors, fireworks, food, family and sharing.
It’s also a time for treating. When families get together, the senior people in the family give red packets (hong bao) filled with money to children which aims to suppress bad spirits, keep them healthy, give them a long life.
Treating your friends and family to unique food and drinks throughout this New Lunar Year, the year of the Goat or Sheep, will do the same thing. Treats make people happy, fight away bad moods, and because of this, treats promote health and longevity.
So Happy Chinese New Year and Treat Holiday!
